Barrett’s practice focuses on appellate litigation in all levels of the federal judiciary. He has represented clients on matters spanning constitutional, administrative, anti-SLAPP, multi-district toxic tort, and contract law.

Barrett earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the Virginia Law Review Editorial Board as an Online Editor. He was also a member of the Appellate Litigation Clinic where he drafted a petition for a writ of certiorari at the United States Supreme Court and briefed and argued an appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, winning his client a new trial.

Prior to joining Clement & Murphy, Barrett worked for King & Spalding LLP handling complex civil litigation and appeals. He clerked for Judge S. Kyle Duncan, on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and Judge Joan L. Larsen on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

In his free time, Barrett enjoys spending time with his wife and three children as well as all things outdoors and sports related.
