Nick’s practice focuses primarily on appellate litigation and critical motions work in federal courts, including in the United States Supreme Court. Nick has handled briefing and oral argument in numerous complex and high-profile matters for various clients. His experience spans a wide range of subject areas, including cases involving the First and Second Amendments to the United States Constitution, the Commerce and Due Process Clauses, separation of powers, standing, federal jurisdiction, administrative law, products liability, intellectual property, class actions, labor and employment, statutory interpretation, and more.

Before joining Clement & Murphy, Nick clerked for Judge Justin R. Walker of the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, Judge John K. Bush of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and Judge David L. Russell of the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.  He also served as a chambers aide intern to Associate Justice Sonia M. Sotomayor of the United States Supreme Court.

Nick earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was an Assistant Articles Editor for the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy and a finalist in the Ames Moot Court competition. In his free time, Nick enjoys playing and watching all sports (with some preference for golf, basketball, and football), eating good food, and spending time with his wife, son, and their quartet of highly trained dogs and cats.
