Nick’s practice focuses on Supreme Court and appellate advocacy and critical motions work. Nick has drafted merits briefs, petitions for certiorari, and amicus briefs in the Supreme Court, including in New York State Rifle & Pistol Ass’n v. Bruen, 597 U.S. 1 (2022).
Nick has also drafted appellate briefs and dispositive motions in federal circuit and district courts and state courts around the country, in a variety of substantive areas, including administrative law; bankruptcy; class actions; federal jurisdiction; products liability; securities and cryptocurrency regulation; and constitutional law, including the separation of powers, the First Amendment, the Second Amendment, the Commerce Clause, due process, and preemption. He has argued in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and examined expert witnesses in federal district court.
In addition to his appellate work, Nicholas has provided strategic advice to corporations and organizations and representation to individuals appearing before Congress. He also maintains a robust pro bono practice.
Nick served as a law clerk to Judge Danny J. Boggs of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and as law clerk for the Senate Judiciary Committee for the nomination of the Hon. Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a graduate of NYU Law School and Oxford University.
